About the artist

I studied at Rochdale and Brighton colleges of art and then worked as a graphic designer before "going straight" in a 9 to 5 job.
I have exhibited at Brighton Festival open houses and other sponsored exhibitions on a number of occasions and have undertaken several private commissions.
Influences include Peter Bruegel, Hieronymus Bosch, Dali, Frank Frazetta, H P Lovecraft, Michael Moorcock, Charles De Lint, Robert E Howard and lots of old horror Movies.
Background music is normally provided by Hawkwind, Mettalica, Black Sabbath, Apocalyptica, Motorhead and lots of scandinavian epic/pagan metal.
I haven't got anywhere near as many skulls as Colin - but I'm working on it...

During the Summer of 2009 Darkwolves had a two month showing in Brighton as part of the Lycanthopen House exhibtion of horror & Fantasy art. One of my paintings is now on permanent exhibtion in the pub where the show took part.

"I have seen the dark universe yawning
Where the blank planets roll without aim -
Where they roll in their horror unheeded,
Without knowledge or lustre or name."

H P Lovecraft - Nemesis 1917

And a question I've often asked myself;

"When I close my eyes - where do all the weird pictures come from?"

Alan Aldridge, Phantasia 1981.
